Product Description Wahl Groomsman Beard and Mustache Trimmer featuring Rechargeable Cord or Cordless Operations with LED and Acculock 6-position Trim Guide.
Amazon.com For daily beard maintenance or for making a big change to facial hair, Wahl's Groomsman trimmer is the device you need. The Groomsman's high-carbon steel blades are precision-ground to provide a close cut and stay sharp longer. A six-position beard regulator easily attaches to the trimmer's head to provide consistent and safe tapering and trimming of beards and mustaches. The six positions range from a height that tackles longer hairs, (for example, if you are shaving off your beard) all the way down to a short height for trimming daily stubble. For convenience, the beard regulator remembers the last set length height until you change it. For additional comfort during shaving, the Groomsman has a contoured ergonomic handle with soft gripping pads for a secure grasp. The Groomsman operates either plugged in via its electric charger, or runs on its long-lasting nickel-cadmium battery which is estimated to last three to five years before needing replacement. The trimmer and charger are small enough to stash in the included pouch for travel along with the accessories--the beard regulator, the jaw line blender, two close-trim attachments, a mustache comb, cleaning oil, and a cleaning brush. A storage stand holds the trimmer and all accompanying accoutrements in your regular trimming location. Wahl's Groomsman trimmer is covered by a two-year limited warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

If you purchase this trimmer, then PLEASE KEEP YOUR RECEIPT August 18, 2010 Gimp Boy (Southern California USA) I have had either a beard or goatee for the last 28 years, and for most of this time I owned a Wahl trimmer. My first Wahl lasted 10 years, my second Wahl lasted for 8 years. I took a 3 year break using a Norelco (which was a Christmas gift), however, I was never satisfied with the cut at longer settings. I ultimately went back to various Wahl trimmers, yet they all gave out (battery, motor, etc) in less than 2 years.
Deciding to give Wahl one last chance. I purchased the "All-in-One Trimmer Kit," given that it had a 5-year warranty. The battery quit recharging after the 3rd month, and Wahl's position was since I failed to keep my Target receipt, there was no warranty coverage. Not keeping the receipt was definitely my fault. However, I can say, through personal experience, that Wahl's quality and performance has SIGNIFICANTLY declined over the years (based on my last four purchases), and this was the last Wahl trimmer that I will ever own. If you cannot purchase any other trimmer but a Wahl, my advice is that you hold fast to your receipt...because I fear you will need it sooner rather than later. If any other option is available to you, I would strongly urge you to consider it, rather than purchasing a Wahl.
Good machinery, not so good user's advice August 15, 2010 Michael Ely Good value: you get a lot of equipment, all ofit made in China. The powered cutter is good quality. Some of the add-on parts have skimpy instructions, or none, as if the buyer is an old hand at mustaches and beards. Getting the needed pieces to fit together takes a bit of repetition. All this said, you get a lot for your money, and with repetition and a bit of skill you should end up with a good system. The price is really reasonable.
Whenyou've managed to get going, beards can be easily and effectively trimmed, mustaches are easy care and the total effect is excellent. Just a little more understanding of the new, inexperinced faces would be a real help.
The worst beard trimmer I have ever purchased. August 15, 2010 RJay After going through much of the reviews on Amazon about this product I decided to go ahead and purchase it. BIG MISTAKE! Since the first time I used it, I hated it. It does not trim the hair evenly, the blades (or whatever those tiny toothed things are) pull hair which is not very pleasant at all. It takes forever for me to get my desired result because the trimmer has to be held at particular uncomfortable angles and I have to go over the same spot several times.
The attachments are rickety and made of the cheapest plastic out there. They are not easy to 'attach' ! The only good thing I can think of so far is that the charging lasts which if it didn't, I would have thrown this not so economically priced piece of junk out the window after the first time I used it.
Guys, if you have a thick beard, do not waste your time or your money on this. Sub-standard and a complete utter waste. I am sick of hearing stuff like 'well, this suits me fine because I don't have a very thick beard.'
Thick or fine, the people designing these products should really consider all possibilities and types out there. A beard trimmer should do the job, whether the beard is thick/normal/fine.
Excellent Trimmer July 31, 2010 lazlong (Texas) Excellent power. Charge lasts a long time. Powers through my coarse facial hairs. It works as advertised. What else can I say?
Edit: I made the mistake of plugging the charger into an overseas outlet while traveling. It is not designed for 230 volt receptacles. It would be nice if they had a multiple voltage charger, but I can't blame Wahl for my mistake. I knew better, just wasn't thinking.
WORKS GREAT FOR ME !!! July 22, 2010 Robert Bruce Blakely (San Diego, CA USA) I'm loving this trimmer. I trim my goatee fairly short. Setting attachments are perfect. Take off the attachments and I shave the hairs on the back of my neck. (Perfect for trimming chest hairs and other hairs too.) Very sturdy in the hand. Well made. Charge lasts a long time. I read other reviews that mentioned attachments are difficult to get off. I'm NOT having that problem. Snug fit (which is GOOD), but I have no problem removing them. SO FAR SO GOOD !!!!
